Before your first game

Get started

  1. Charge it the night before.

Connect the orange charging cable to the tablet and plug the adapter into a wall outlet. Charge before each game day.

  2. Open AllPlayCoach.

Tap AllPlayCoach on the home screen. The tablet is already activated, and the app works at the field without internet.

  3. Enter your team details.

A starter team is already set up. Change its name to your team’s name. Team → ⋯ → Edit team lets you enter your name, team name, and logo. If the logo is on your phone, display it there and Take a photo of it — that works with no signal.

  4. Add your players.

On Team, enter players manually, or paste a roster from a group message. Review the preview before saving.

  5. Add your games.

On Calendar, add your scheduled games. Tap a game to plan its lineup.

  6. Hang it in the dugout.

Attach the bungee cords to the back of the case and around the fence rail. Place the screen at eye level, in shade when possible.

Start with a guided tour

Take a short tour before your first game. Every page has an ⓘ at the top. Tap it, choose Show me around, then follow a short tour of the page’s main controls.

Do it on Team, on a game, and on Playbook before your first game. Tours also start on their own the first time a page has something to show you.

Want to replay a tour? Settings → Help & about → Show the tours again lets you replay the tours.

For anything else: Settings → Help & about has answers to common questions. Search for a topic such as “bench,” “pitching,” or “print.”

Good to know

Questions coaches ask

Do I need an account, a password or a license key?

No. This tablet is already activated. If it asks for an email address or activation code, call or text support for help.

Can I put my team's logo on it?

Yes. Team → ⋯ → Edit team, then Take a photo or Choose a file. This tablet has no email app or browser. Use its camera to capture a logo from your phone screen, a printed image, or a jersey.

Does it need internet at the field?

No. Once the app is open, lineups and the game timer work offline. Updates download when the tablet reconnects to Wi-Fi.

Can the other coach see my lineup?

Yes — in a game, tap ⋯ and choose Share batting order by QR code. The other coach scans it to see your batting order. The lineup is included in the code, not uploaded.

Can parents get the schedule?

On Team, Team email prepares an email with your schedule and sign-up sheets. Individual player reports go only to that player’s family.

Before handing over the tablet

Tap the padlock at the top left of the batting order before handing over the tablet. It prevents accidental lineup changes and disables End game while the board is locked. Hold the padlock to unlock it. A quick tap will not unlock the board.

Report an app problem

In the app: Settings → Your data → Send us a diagnostics file → Save file, then email the file and tell us what you were doing when the problem occurred. It contains app details and counts, not player names, family emails, notes, or photos.
